Nestled amidst the aspen trees, off the beaten path and down a dirt road, lies the Little Cabin in the Woods. Your sanctuary awaits. This cozy cabin is the perfect escape for your family, a place to slow down, unwind, and create unforgettable memories.
In the morning, savor your coffee and curl up on the couch next to a crackling fire as the sunrise paints the valley with golden hues. As the kids wake up and start to get restless, bundle them up and send them outside to run, laugh, scream, and play freely, knowing there are no neighbors to disturb them. The private sledding hill and playground will keep them occupied and entertained.
This two-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin has a spacious and well appointed kitchen, with a modern yet rustic feel. This is a an ideal vacation spot for one or two families to enjoy together.
This multi-acre property, situated at an elevation of 10,000 feet, is approximately 3 miles northeast of the historic town of Cripple Creek, Colorado. This completely off-grid property offers modern amenities such as electricity, running water, and internet, but in a limited capacity. The stove, refrigerator and water heater are all powered by propane. Electricity is generated solely by solar panels and batteries, while water is supplied through an underground cistern filled by a water truck. Internet access is provided via a cellular modem, which is sufficient for remote work but may not be ideal for an entire family to spend a weekend connected. The sole heat source for the cabin is a wood-burning stove. While this cabin is suitable for most families, it may not be the best fit for everyone. You should be comfortable with the idea of staring a fire and chopping wood, and we kindly request that you be mindful of your electricity and water usage during your stay.
On-property amenities include a wood fireplace, a propane fire pit, outdoor lounge furniture, a sledding hill, a playground with swings, a slide, a ninja course, a trampoline, a climbing dome, rope tunnels, and a swinging pod.
Area amenities include hiking trails such as Horse Thief, Pancake Rock, Pikes Peak and Mueller State Park. Paradise Cove and Guffey Gorge, and Skaguay Reservoir are near by. Florissant has the famous fossil beds. The town of Cripple Creek provides restaurants, shopping, casinos, town donkeys, and museums. During winter months, Cripple Creek hosts the famous Ice Castles! The town of Victor also offers museums, restaurants, hiking trails with mining sites, and more. And while you’re here, don’t forget to go visit Rita the Rock Planter, our very own troll by renowned artist, Thomas Dambo!
